The Environmental Benefits of Non-toxic Nail Polish

Guest Post by: Staci Morris, founder of Liberation Nails

These days, more and more people are becoming aware of the effects of the beauty products they use on the environment. In order to protect our environment, it is important to look for products that are non-toxic and reduce our environmental impact. Non-toxic nail products are a great way to do this, as they contain fewer hazardous chemicals and less impact on the environment.

The first benefit of using non-toxic nail products is that they are less harmful for our health. Nail products contain several chemicals, some of which can be toxic when absorbed through the skin. By using non-toxic products, we can help keep these potentially harmful chemicals from entering our bodies. In turn, this will also help reduce the negative health effects of using these products, such as skin irritation and respiratory issues.

Another benefit of using non-toxic nail products is that they are better for the environment. Many nail polishes and related products contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs). When these products are used, the VOCs are released into the air and can have long-lasting negative effects, causing air pollution and contributing to global warming. By reducing our use of these toxic chemicals and opting for non-toxic products, we can help to reduce our carbon footprint and help keep the air clean.

In addition to being better for the health of both people and the environment, non-toxic nail products also tend to be safer for the eyes. Many traditional nail products contain chemicals that can be irritating to the eyes, such as formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate. Formaldehyde is used as a hardener, toluene acts as a solvent, and DBT is a plasticizer. Instead of these ingredients, which are probable carcinogens, nervous system disruptors, and endocrine disruptors, respectively. By switching to non-toxic products, you can help eliminate some of the risks associated with these chemicals.

Non-toxic nail products are also safer for the environment because they do not contain harsh solvents and other toxic ingredients. Traditional nail polishes and treatments often contain solvents such as acetone that can be hazardous when released into the environment. By using non-toxic products, you can help reduce the amount of harmful chemicals that are released into the atmosphere. Overall, non-toxic nail products are a great way to reduce your environmental impact. They are less harmful to our health, better for the environment, and safer for our eyes. By taking the time to switch to non-toxic products, you can help make a difference and help protect our planet.

Do you know where your nail polish company stands on the environment? Do you know who makes the product? Is it tested on animals? Is it toxic to the environment?

Committing to non-toxic nail care is one of the best choices you can make for yourself and our planet; it’s also an easy one. Non-toxic nail products are a small investment in your health, including all the ingredients you want and none of the ones you don’t.

At Liberation Nails, we are very clear on where we stand regarding these issues. Our products allow you to relax and practice small self-care rituals without the pressure of wondering if you’re compromising your health or contributing negatively to the environment or society. As founder Staci Morris said in an interview with USA Wire, Liberation Nails is designed for people who demand “sustainable, cruelty-free, and chemical-free products.”Liberation Nails uses refillable products and compostable materials to ensure the lowest environmental impact.

Liberation Nails chooses ingredients like ethyl acetate (also used to decaffeinate coffee beans) and acetyl tributyl (derived from citric acid). While many nail polish brands avoid the three most harmful ingredients and call themselves 3-free or 5-free, we make a point to avoid more than twenty-one toxic chemicals in our products.

Our colors are vibrant, our ingredients are natural, and our mission is clear. If you’re interested in learning more about Liberation Nails and our non-toxic products for adults and children, read about us, our FAQ or contact us.
