N:OW for Net-Zero
ABOUT NOW for Net-Zero
N:OW for Net-Zero is a Canadian program mobilizing student-led climate action in K-12 schools and educational communities nationwide. A project of Finance Engage Sustain (FES), a youth-led, youth-serving sustainable development organization, N:OW for Net-Zero was built on a simple but urgent belief: young people don't want to wait for a distant, promised net-zero future — they want to build it now, starting in their own schools and communities. The program provides grants, resources, coaching, curriculum tools, and wrap-around support to help students and educators explore and implement meaningful, hands-on climate solutions. The projects N:OW for Net-Zero funds are as diverse as the communities they serve, including solar panel installations, vertical farms, hydroponic gardens, climate-resilient building prototypes, and active transportation initiatives. The program places particular emphasis on reaching rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across so-called Canada, spaces that are disproportionately impacted by climate change and historically underserved by climate funding and education resources.
