Volvo Cars Invests in Flax Fibers for Sustainable Interiors

  • In additional to making driving sustainable, Volvo Cars has been moving away from traditional “luxury” materials such as leather in their car interiors.
  • The company has teamed up with Bcomp who develops high-performance, lightweight materials based on natural flax fibers.
  • Bcomp uses flax because it’s a biological materials that offers savings in weight, energy use, and emissions versus petroleum-based plastic.
