SCA and Scania Develop Electric Timber Trucks

  • SCA and Scania have developed the world’s first electric timber truck that has a capacity of holding 80 metric tons.
  • The SCA Obbola’s paper mill currently has a virtually fossil-free production process and this new electric vehicle will help reduce the fossil fuel elements in the transport chain of raw material to the mill.
  • The companies will test drive this truck during the summer to determine energy consumption, productivity and costs and to see if it can be implemented across the country.
