Hey there, I just want to say thank you so much for creating this site. Last year I was a the brink of ending everything as my climate anxiety became so overbearing that I was suffocating to the point I wouldn’t want to go outside because no matter what I did, I hurt the planet and felt I had no hope for the future. I have always been a climate activist but always felt I could do nothing.

I am now in my final year of teaching and always show my students your sight every morning to show there are some amazing things happening. Honestly, you saved my life, and you have no idea how much of a big help you are being. It’s not so bad anymore where I feel like there is hope; thanks so much!

As a young 16 year-old who will most likely witness the effects of climate change in the future, my eco-anxiety is through the roof. I’ve read many negative news articles about the subject and it has taken a toll on me. I think about it every day and it really brings me down. That’s why I thank you for spreading all this positivity and hope. We really need it.

I really want to thank you with helping me dealing with my anxiety! It started last august with full-on panic attacks about the environment and I seriously lost all hope and trust in humanity…
But your website and instagram account gave me some trust and hope back…I still battle with the anxiety but your website pulled me through the worst of it! Thank you very much! ❤

Thanks, Happy Eco News. Your article got me using SearchScene and it’s giving great search results. Also, like the design — and how nice to help reputable charities instead of tax-avoiding billionaires!

I just wanted to say thank you for your website/Facebook page. When everything in the news seems hopeless it is very isolating and depressing. Your page shows that millions of people care and are using their creativity, ingenuity, and research to help. Climate anxiety is something that I really struggle with, but your page has helped give me a bit of hope and perspective, showing that people care and that positive change can happen. So thank you .

Hello there,

I really appreciate your weekly newsletter! I first heard about you on a David Suzuki call a year or so ago.

Recently, I created a short film called, Perseverance. It’s about our journey through Covid and the attitudes we can take when faced with future challenges whether personal or environmental.

You might like to see it and share it with your readers. All of the films I shoot are based in nature and focus on personal growth, which I feel is at the heart of climate change.

Thank you for what you do!

This makes me warm inside, I feel that same deep emotion, we all do even if it it hasn’t hit us yet or our personalities of feelings deny it.

Mother Nature is our home it created us, it’s begging for our help.

I have a hope, slowly.

There are enough good people who feel this internal burning we won’t lie down without a fight.

Thank you for writing this. And a thank you to brother Bob who filmed the video. As I understand it, there has been a two year moratorium on logging at Whispering Creek headwaters. I believe me need more certainty that it will not be logged in future. And all other locations that contribute to the beauty and ecology that is Howe Sound.

You put into words how earth day feels!

It IS every day.

It is so much more than picking up garbage around you for one day 😞

It IS standing up to the systems which destroy healthy life in our planet.

Thanks for stepping it up with your realistic honest piece! Cheers, Grant.

Hey,

Big fan of your website, I’ve been visiting it regularly for the last year or so. It’s been a great help in dealing with my anxiety problems.

I found this article about my home state’s work to revive our oyster reefs, bringing along with it a surge in biodiversity.

Cheers,

Thank you so much for running this site.

There’s so much negativity in the news, especially since the rise of endless news feeds and ‘doomscrolling’. But to drive the change the world needs you can’t rely on fear alone, you need something to hope for.

The weekly blog post, in particular, is a part of the week I always look forward to.

Personally, I’m most excited about the continually plummeting costs of renewable energy given that, as we’ve seen in places where the government might not prioritize reducing emissions, you can’t fight economics. The argument of “expensive clean energy” is crumbling and will soon be flipped on its head.

I think we’ll soon see the same for EVs.

Hopefully, you’ll keep finding good news for us in 2021 🙂

Thank you for this. Good news leads to hope. And hope leads to solutions. In a world drowning in bad news, good news is like an endangered species, and we need to save it. Thanks for your part. I share it with my family and friends in person, or by text. That’s perhaps a smaller than social media, but I stay away from that. In the end, perhaps it’s more powerful. It is for me.

I wanted to leave you a note of thanks.

I discovered your site about a year ago and I now visit every morning to get my little fix of hope. There is no end of doom and gloom available out there, but I love coming here for a 180 degree turn in perspective to see instead positive news of what is being done and being planned for the future by like minded people and individuals not willing to let the scale of problems stop them from taking steps forward. Your site is a wonderful place to glimpse a brighter future with projects and changes already in motion. Seeing that success is the best possible advert for change.

Thank you,

Tom

June 23, 2020

Hi Grant,

In case no one’s told you lately….you are a gem of light during these strange times.

I share Happy Eco News in my church’s newsletter every Sunday (I’m on the Green Sanctuary team). I am only focusing on good news these days. You are my main source!

Of course I include local good eco-news as well. Today I was able to include the good news regarding one of the largest power plants in Georgia, Georgia Power’s Plant Scherer. The local Altamaha Riverkeepers have tested the water and found coal ash poisons and have managed to fight back and “may” get funding from the state to have the coal ash pits lined.

I just wanted to give you some good eco-news back.

Mostly: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the work you are doing!

Firstly, Thank you for all your hard work bringing this positive information to us. Back in the winter the scale of the Climate emergency hit me and I was hunting up websites for positive environmental news, your website was about the only website centred around this subject that I could read without any anxiety. Secondly, I can only say one thing. YAY!!!! It was the one of the most stupid thing done by Ontario’s government! So glad it got overturned!

Love your page and what you write. I have eco-anxiety and when I feel down or stressed this is where I go. It feels good to have good news because not everything needs to look grim when we think about the future. We often see way too many bad news and I feel like it discourages people. Continue the good work and I look forward reading even more good news in 2020.
