Mushrooms Break Down Asphalt Shingles, Create Reusable Materials

  • Four companies, Lendlease, Rubicon Technologies, Mycocyle and Rockwood Sustainable Solutions, have partnered to find ways to salvage asphalt shingles.
  • They are looking at combing mushrooms and shingles and using three strains of fungi to break down the materials.
  • The end result is to reduce construction waste and create a reusable product.
