Molson Coors is a multinational brewing company, headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The company is the seventh largest brewing company by volume in the world. In 2013, Molson Coors established an operational 2020 Sustainable Strategy, which included: 1. Zero waste to landfill 2. 25% reduction in energy intensity 3. 15% reduction in carbon intensity 4. 15% reduction in water intensity Molson Coors has now announced the company is joining the global Science Based Targets Initiative. Molson Coors is now one of 115 companies with corporate approved, science-based environmental targets. Science-based targets provide a path for companies to provide a meaningful reduction in carbon emissions Molson Coors has also set new environmental targets, which include: 1. Improve water-use efficiency of its agricultural supplies by 10%. 2. Save 2.1 billion gallons of water in the company’s brewing processes by 2025. 3. Initiate a US $2 million in incentives to barley and hops growers that prioritize sustainability. Why is Molson Coors making these commitments to the environment?
