McDonald’s Opens ‘Net-Zero’ Restaurant in the UK

  • McDonald’s has opened the United Kingdom’s first net-zero carbon restaurant.
  • The restaurant is built following the UK Green Building Council’s net-zero standard which accounts for the carbon emissions during construction and operation.
  • The drive-thru lane is paved with recycled tires and the internal parapets on the roof, are made from recycled toasters and blenders.
