• A Chinese company, Sinopec has proposed the “Sinopec Xinjiang Kuqa Green Hydrogen Pilot Project” to be completed by 2023 which will add 20 000 tons of sustainable hydrogen.
• According to the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance if this project is successful, the annual demand for hydrogen in China could grow to about 60 million tons per year by 2050.
• As part of their project, the company will also add a new photovoltaic power station and  solar canopies.
