  • The Indonesian fisheries ministry is paying fishers to collect plastic trash from the sea.
  • Each fisherman will receive the equivalent of $10 per week for collecting up to 9 lbs of plastics.
  • This initiative is part of the country’s efforts to reduce marine plastic pollution by 70% by 2025.
