I killed the spider
I killed the spider.
Why?
Well, I saw it. And it was weird. So I killed it.
And what was it doing?
It was making a web and scurrying around.
It was living? Trying to get something to eat?
Well, yeah.
And you killed it, just because you could?
I guess so. But they freak me out!
So you killed it because it’s too different?
I don’t know! ok…
Well, all I know is that if I were small, and just doing my best to survive, I would hope bigger creatures would just let me be, and offer me the kindness of not killing me for simply existing in the wrong place at the wrong time.
…
You don’t have to love, or even like something, to respect it and offer it the simplest kindness of just letting it continue on its way.
