Here’s How Argentina’s Most Important Carbon Sink Will be Permanently Protected

  • Argentinian legislators have approved a law to permanently protect the Mitre Peninsula at the tip of South America.
  • The protected area will comprise 300,000 hectares of land and the remaining part of the ocean.
  • The peatlands will be fully protected from human activities, and more than a quarter of the marine protected area will be a no-take zone.
