During 1970s, there were only a few known nesting of these birds in Arizona. It was not entirely sure what helped to this species, ban on the egg-busting pesticide DDT, or new rules protecting occupied nests, but now they are back.
Arizona Game & Fish Department raptor specialists put leg bands on young eagles nesting above Lake Pleasant. The bands will help identify and monitor the eagles as they grow.
