Exporting Eco-Friendly Power Tools to the World

With the world in the midst of chaotic heat waves, wildfires and massive storms, the need to evolve away from pollutants is critical. Already, environmental scientists are projecting that even a 2-degree warming of the earth could lead us down an "irreversible pathway" with consequences that could be devastating to life. With the growth of research indicating that climate change is reaching a critical stage, there has come a parallel growth in calls to stop the impending effects. Recently, the General Secretary of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, told attendees at the U.N. climate conference in Poland that climate change was “the most important issue we face." Although progress has been slow, companies and organizations around the world have invested heavily in renewables, including wind and solar. The World Bank and its two sister organizations are leading the way, with plans to double their investments in climate action to about US$200 billion from 2021-2025. However, switching to renewables is not enough at this point and so lawmakers are turning to increased legislation to curb continued use of fossil fuels and soften the impact of drastic climate change.
