15-year old Vinisha Umashankar, has created a practical solution for a problem she encountered in her home community. Her innovation was recognized around the world, including the prestigious Children’s Climate Prize in November 2021. As well, Vinisha’s invention has been nominated for this year’s Earthshot Prize.
