A fast-food company’s shift towards healthier choices proved to be a smash success—so much so that they sold out of a new product and are also introducing a further step. A&W Canada announced today (October 1) that the Beyond Meat Burger is now back in stock across the country. The plant-based burger was introduced on July 9 and is made from mung beans, yellow peas, beets, coconut oil, pomegranates, apples, rice, and potatoes. The burger is made with the patty accompanied by lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, and either a sesame-seed bun or wrapped in lettuce. As it became A&W’s most successful product launch, it sold out of stock by mid-August. Meanwhile, A&W Food Services of Canada also announced that as of today that it is eliminating all processed cheese and will replace it with real cheddar cheese, using Canadian milk.
