ABOUT Katie
Katie works as a research associate for ilili, a Honduran non-profit focusing on shark and ray conservation. She leads a project on the photo-identification of spotted eagle rays in the Bay Islands of Honduras. She hopes to bring awareness and protection for this endangered species through her research. She has conducted research in the Great Barrier Reef, Costa Rica, the Maldives, and in the Mesoamerican Reef.
Katie holds an MSc in marine systems and policies from the University of Edinburgh and a BS in biology from Utah State University. She's passionate about elasmobranch conservation, citizen science, and climate change.
