Jayden Chapman

I spent much of my childhood traveling between Thompson and Churchill, where I had family in both communities. Over the years, I developed a deep appreciation for Churchill’s remoteness, natural beauty, and unique way of life. For the past seven years, I’ve called Churchill home and now live full time at Camp Nanuk, roughly 20 kilometers from town. It’s the perfect balance of being close to work (5km away) while staying connected to the outdoors.

I began working at a family-owned business in town before being encouraged to apply for the Sustainability Coordinator position at the CNSC. Having the opportunity to support my community in a variety of meaningful ways has been incredibly rewarding, and being able to say that I genuinely enjoy my work is something I don’t take for granted.
Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible outdoors. Whether I’m berry picking, paddleboarding alongside belugas, searching for fossils, or hunting, I’m always looking for new ways to connect with the land. There’s so much to love about this region, and I plan to make the most of my time here by continuing to explore everything it has to offer.
