Dr Adrian Cooper is a geographer and conservationist. The focus of his work has always been on the public engagement with conservation spaces. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the author of three books - Sacred Mountains: Ancient Wisdom and Modern Meanings, Sacred Nature: Ancient Wisdom and Modern Meanings, and Places of Pilgrimage and Healing. His work has taken him to 101 nations across six continents.
As a broadcaster, Dr Cooper has written and presented programmes for the BBC World Service where global audiences for his work have often reached 20 million. His first book inspired the Sacred Mountains radio series.
Dr Cooper’s second book inspired the Sacred Nature radio series, which won the 2009 Jerusalem Radio Award for environmental programmes. He lives in Suffolk, UK.
