Aziz Kaouass
ABOUT Aziz
Aziz Kaouass, born in 1969 in Masaouda, meaning ‘the happy(place)’, a remote village in North Morocco's arid Rif region, migrated to the Netherlands as a child. Despite the migration his bond with Masaouda remained strong. In 2006, Aziz and his family began restoring ancestral arid land by planting trees, one of the factors leading to the creation of the Riforest foundation.
With Riforest, Aziz aims to restore agricultural land in the Rif region. This journey intertwines Aziz's Islamic beliefs with permaculture, emphasizing Earth stewardship. Tree planting, aligned with his faith, symbolizes sustainable charity and transformative change.
