Ashley Smith

Ashley is a retired Police Detective Superintendent with a lifelong love and respect for the natural world. He founded WASP in 2018 when it became clear that the authorities that many people expect to protect our environment were simply not doing so. He joined forces with a small team of volunteers with specialist skills which opened the lid on the illegal activities of water companies and the failure of the regulators. Impatient for change and unwilling to accept promises and plans in the place of urgent action, a critic of the greenwashing and regulatory capture that has kept the public in the dark and kept pollution profitable.
