• One of the largest wetland restoration projects in United States history is taking place on the South Bay in the San Fransisco Area.
  • The South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project hopes to restore at least half of the 15 000 acres of tidal wetlands while maintaining current levels of flood protection and biodiversity.
  • So far, approximately 3000 acres have been restored to tidal wetlands and 700 acres of ponds have been enhanced.
