• Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory researchers have produced an alternative jet fuel from commonly found soil bacteria species.
  • The biofuel was created out of a molecule named Jawsamycim and combined with a culture broth with sugars, salts, and some amino acids.
  • The researchers say that this fuel is not only made using renewable processes but can store more energy, too, meaning it may be more efficient if produced at scale.
