• The International Energy Agency is forecasting a significant growth in renewable energy as a result of rising concerns over climate change and energy security.
  • They forecast 320 gigawatts of renewable energy this year compared to the 295 gigawatts in 2021.
  • “Energy market developments in recent months – especially in Europe – have proven once again the essential role of renewables in improving energy security, in addition to their well-established effectiveness at reducing emissions” said Fatih Birol, the International Energy Agency Executive Director.
