• The U.S. Department of Energy announced $3.1 billion in funding to make more batteries and components in America.
  • The investments will support the creation and expansion of commercial facilities, as well as manufacturing demonstrations and battery recycling.
  • $60 million will be used to support second-life applications for batteries that were once used to power EVs and to develop new processes for recycling materials back into the battery supply chain.
