• A new planning law has been introduced in UK cities of Brighton and Hove which calls for new buildings to include special bricks which provide nests for solitary bees.
  • These special bricks are the same size as normal bricks but have a series of narrow openings where the bees are known to nest.
  • The aim of these bricks is to increase opportunities and protect biodiversity especially of the solitary bees which makes up 250 of the 270 bee species in Britain
