Animal rights activists, the Norwegian Animal Rights Organisation (NOAH) have been fighting long and hard to shut down these farms for over 30 years and now the fight has been won. In an Instagram post, NOAH detail that the Norwegian government have agreed to phase out all fur farms in the country by 2025. “We’re very pleased,” Head of NOAH, Siri Martinsen said, adding the plan seemed sure of majority support in Norway’s parliament. Camilla Björkbom, chairman of the Animal Society Right said, “We welcome the Swedish Government’s proposal to investigate the welfare of minkers on Sweden’s fur farms, but today we see that Norway shows that a ban on fur farming is possible.
