Busy bees, working hard, are largely responsible for regulating our food supply through the pollination of our crops. To put it into perspective just how important these little creatures are: globally, 80% of our food from crop cultivation is pollinated by just 2% of the bee population – the working bees. That means that if we lose that very important 2%, then we also lose 80% of our plant-based food supply. Meaning no more apples, oranges, avocados, blueberries, broccoli, onions, almonds and so much more. Bees play an essential role in the health of our environment and its ecosystems. Not only would we lose a massive food source, but also many animals. They would no longer have food to eat and would therefore die. Losing bees means losing birds, mice, squirrels, flowers, weeds, etc., all at the same time. In other words, it would be a total catastrophe.
