Your pets can now enjoy food that was prepared via solar power. The project in Graaff-Reinet produces up to 1.4 million kilowatts We all want to live green. It is up to us to make a difference for the future of the planet. We also need to learn about and remember how much energy goes into preparing and making our food. And that goes for our dogs and cats too. Thankfully, it seems some companies are taking this to heart, and are doing their part to make sure that our pet’s food is made using green energy. This week, pet food brand Montego took a step further to being a green corporation. They have completed a solar plant project in the Eastern Cape town of Graaff-Reinet, where their factory is located. The project cost R22 million and is set to decrease their reliance on electricity by 1.4 million kWh. To put it simply, Montego is cutting their power demand down by the equivelant of what 120 households would use in a year!
