Svart Hotel Norway is getting attention for its groundbreaking combination of design and environmentalism . The hotel is set to open in 2021 and will be the world’s first energy-positive hotel above the Arctic Circle, meaning it will generate more energy than it uses. Renderings show that the design is a complete circle, and it’s set at the base of a glacier . Luxury will meet adventure in a remote Norwegian hotel set right at the edge of a glacier. In fact, according to a press release from the hotel, the hotel, which is a collaboration between Arctic Adventure of Norway, architecture firm Snohøetta, and Powerhouse, will use 85% less energy than a traditional hotel in addition to producing its own energy.
