Porsche’s board has officially given the greenlight to bring an all-electric CUV version of the Taycan to production based on the Mission E Cross Turismo concept unveiled earlier this year. We had a pretty good idea that it was happening due to the vastly positive reaction to the concept, which Porsche itself acknowledged in March. Now a few months later, the German automaker has confirmed that the board approved the vehicle for series production in a quick release today: “The second electric athlete from Zuffenhausen: At its meeting on 18 October, the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG gave the green light for series production of the concept study Mission E Cross Turismo.” The company didn’t specify a production timeline, but the vehicle is expected to arrive after the Taycan sedan, which is set to enter production late next year. In terms of specs, it is based on the Taycan and therefore, it is expected to have very similar specs. Based on the concept version, the company has previously been talking about a 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds.
