The senate has just passed Bill S-214! In recent years, countries such as Norway, India, Israel and even the entire European Union have ban the use of animals for testing cosmetics.

This is a huge step in the right direction, and many other countries have been following suit. Canadians have been protesting, creating petitions and spreading awareness on the issue for quite a while. Canadian companies such as Lush and The Body Shop have public petitons in each of their stores for customers to sign, as well as offering a complete line of products that are 100% cruelty free. Well, thanks to these companies for being a mainstream outlet of protest against animal cruelty as well as thousands of Canadians that strived for cosmetic testing on animals to be illegal in Canada, it finally happened! Bill S-214, which is the Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act , was just passed by the Senate. The bill will now move forward to the House of Commons before it becomes law.
