It is part of a wider £2 billion loan and will support projects focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency , waste management and clean transportation. The announcement comes as investor appetite has increased for green loans as governments and businesses across the world seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet climate targets. It follows the Australian bank’s acquisition of the UK’s Green Investment Bank last year.
